Location:

Cap Tremblant is located about 8 minutes by car from the Tremblant village on top of a large hill over looking Mont Tremblant and neighbouring lakes. Parc du Tremblant was approximately 30-40 minutes by car from the resort. We visited the resort in the summer, mainly to do some hiking and mountain biking in the area, and thought the location was okay for what we were looking for. There were biking trails just down the hill from the resort that extended for many kilometeres in either direction. The area was quite good for cycling as the network of bike trails were really good and really well marked. We were really impressed with the area for cycling. Parc du Tremblant was also beautiful and was one of the few places we managed to see owls in broad daylight. Going up the hill to the resort at the end of an active day by bike was quite challenging but not impossible. Overall, the location was okay for what we were looking for but if you want to be in Mont Tremblant or closer to Parc du Tremblant, look for a resort that's further down the road.

Room Comfort:

We stayed in a 1-bedroom condo and it had everything we needed, including a washer/dryer, full-sized kitchen, barbeque, patio, living area, fireplace and so on. The condo was spacious and really felt like our second home. There was also good cable TV and sufficient amount of English-speaking channels that we were even able to watch the replays of the 2010 World Cup games in the evening in English. Despite feeling quite homey, for some strange reason, we had trouble sleeping in the condo. There isn't anything that we could point to for the lack of a deep, comfortable sleep as everything was great, we just had restless nights. The one thing we didn't like was that the rooms were carpeted. Perhaps upgrading to hardwood floors would be more appealing.

Cleanliness:

The condo was clean. The kitchen, bathroom and all rooms were thoroughly cleaned and well maintained. However, since this was a self-catering condo, our room wasn't cleaned during our multi-night stay. The one negative aspect was that there was some mould around the bathtub. The staff should take some action to remedy this problem, so enquire about it before you book. 

Service:

We didn't really require any type of service during our stay so we really can't comment on it. We booked our hotel through Hotels.com so check-in and check-out were really quick and simple. The staff was helpful in explaining the many features of the hotel, such as the numerous pools, tennis courts, etc. during our check-in which was nice to hear.

Food:

There is restaurant at the hotel; however, we didn't eat there so can't comment on the food.

Overall Value:

Despite the lack of a good night's rest for no apparent reason, the resort and condo were quite comfortable and nice. Other than the mouldy spots around the bathtub, we really can't find anything negative to say. We enjoyed our stay and would go back for the right price. We paid the summer special discount price which we think is a great deal for the place. At full price, the value isn't that good.

Other Notes:

This hotel offers great discounts during the summer so take advantage of them. If you like swimming in lakes, hiking and/or biking, the area around the hotel is quite good for any of those activities. We really enjoyed the area and were impressed with the infrastructure for summer activities.
