Location:
The 3-star Hotel Pugetów has a good location right in the centre of Krakow and within a 5 minute walk to the historic centre. It is also close to the fashionable district of Kazimierz. If arriving in Krakow by train, you can reach the hotel within fifteen minutes by foot or a couple of minutes by taxi. We arrived by car and it was easy to find. There is a convenient public paid parking lot adjacent to the hotel and is discounted for hotel guests.
Room Comfort:
Although there is a range of rooms available, we stayed in the apartment "Pani Walewska", which consisted of a large bedroom, large living room and a large bathroom. The apartment was very comfortable and provided all the necessities and luxuries to make our stay pleasurable and comfortable. Not only was the apartment beautifully decorated, but the bathroom also had heated floors and a heated mirror, so you didn't have to worry about steaming up the mirrors or stepping out of the shower onto a cold floor. There was also a separate heating rack in the bathroom. Another nice luxury is that the tap water in the room is filtered so that it's drinkable. The rooms also have air conditioning and heating.
Cleanliness:
The hotel was very clean. The main lobby and the small on site restaurant were also very clean. The staff was well dressed in professional and clean uniforms.
Service:
The service at this hotel was fantastic. The reception staff were professional, kind and courteous. We shared the apartment with another couple and when we left for dinner the staff prepared the pull out sofa in the living room for sleeping. They did a great job in making the pull out sofa comfortable for sleeping by providing lots of pillows, clean bedding and a soft, warm comforter. The service received at breakfast was also very courteous and professional. The service at this hotel is better than you would receive at most other 3-star hotels, even in Europe.
Food:
There is a small restaurant in a nicely converted cellar and contains a few tables, a sofa and a fireplace. Breakfast was included with the booking and was served in their restaurant. The breakfast was delicious and contained a wide and healthy variety of fresh breads, fruits, yogurts, cheeses, jams and so on. We really liked that the breakfast included healthy options such as low-fat yogurts, probiotic yogurt drinks, etc.. Even the coffee served at breakfast was a large freshly brewed cup of coffee.
Overall Value:
Overall, we highly recommend this hotel. The hotel was perfect in every way, (location, comfort and service). We really don't have anything negative to say about this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely make this our first choice of accommodation in Krakow outside of the historic center. It's a 3-star hotel with 5-star service and amenities.
Other Notes:
There is a great jogging path along the river, located about 15 minutes from the hotel. When leaving the hotel, turn right and head straight till you hit the river. The path is located beside the river away from the noise of the nearby traffic. When you reach the path make a right and you can jog all the way to the Wawel Royal Castle which you can have all to yourself at sunrise.
