Location:
Kelebek Cave Hotel is located in the old, upper part of Goreme, less than a five minute walk from the town center. The spacious suites take up the interiors of a number of fairy-chimneys and caves which are the highlight of any visit to Cappadocia. It is a quiet and peaceful location that provides a relaxing atmosphere. The views from the hotel grounds are great, if not the best in that area.
Room Comfort:
The rooms are simply fantastic. Not only are the rooms spacious and beautiful, they are also decorated in Ottoman style and contain en-suite bathrooms with marble walls, Jacuzzis and hamam basins. We stayed in one of the king suites, specifically Room 108, the Vine Mansion. The room had two floors, with the bedroom and bathroom on the bottom floor and a large sitting are on the top floor. We can't say enough good things about the room, the staff or the hotel. Out of the hundreds and thousands of hotels we stayed in, this is one of the best. Another great thing about this place is that they list all 31 rooms on their website and you have the pleasure to choose which room you want to stay in. The pictures on the website accurately show what the rooms look like, so you know exactly what you are getting upon arrival. All rooms also had a TV and air conditioning.
Cleanliness:
The hotel grounds and the rooms were immaculate and very well maintained.
Service:
The service at this hotel was well above average. On our early arrival, the staff invited us for breakfast even though we arrived well before the check-in time and breakfast shouldn't have been included on this day. They also made our room available to us as early so that once we finished our breakfast our room was ready. We can certainly say that the staff was attentive and friendly. On one occasion, one of our staff injured himself during a hike and the hotel staff assisted by continuing to provide ice to heal the sprained ankle. Other services include, Internet service, tour bookings and so on. Before our arrival, we arranged a balloon ride over Cappadocia with them (at no extra cost) and it all went as planned. You certainly get that personal touch at this hotel. It's really evident that the staff strive to ensure their guests leave happy.
Food:
Breakfast was included with the stay and it was delicious. The breakfast area was nicely situated on a veranda that has splendid views of the surrounding area. There was a wide variety of foods and drinks available to satisfy all taste buds. We fell in love with their pastries and apple tea. A restaurant and bar are located on site and open for lunch and dinner.
Overall Value:
Overall, this place is a gem and should not be missed if in Cappadocia. We don't know why anyone would want to stay anywhere else. Not only was it the highlight of our trip to Turkey, we can't say one negative thing about this place. From the rooms to the food to the service, everything was simply great. We would highly recommend this place and would love to visit it again ourselves one day.
