Location:

This hotel has a superb location, close to the famous Petronas Twin Towers and next to the large KLCC park, if you are mainly in Kuala Lumpur to see the Petronas Twin Towers. However, if you want to explore the city a little more by visiting the night market, Batu Caves, National Mosque, Masjid Jamek or other KL attractions, than it is a bit of a walk to get to the nearest subway stop which isn't a problem if you don't mind walking, have your own car or don't mind taking taxis. Furthermore, the hotel does offer a free shuttle to the mall, Suria KLCC, located beside the Petronas Twin Towers reducing your walk by about 5-10 minutes.

Room Comfort:

Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur offers value accommodation with a range of amenities and facilities that made for a comfortable stay. We found the spacious rooms and large bathrooms at the hotel very comfortable. Although the rooms have simple but modern decor, including a flat screen LCD TV, there was something about them that made us feel at home. Internet access was provided in our room along with the usual toiletries such as bath gel, shampoo and hair conditioner. We had a beautiful view from our floor to ceiling windows of the Petronas Twin Towers and the KLCC park below.

Cleanliness:

The hotel property and the the rooms are clean and well maintained. The hotel staff is also professionally presented in proper uniforms.

Service:

The service in the hotel could have been better. For a large hotel that prides themselves for their "...exceptional level of service that is distinct from other KL hotels..." we expected more.  The main reason for our comment is that we did run into a couple of issues with their service. The first issue occurred during check-out when they tried to bill us for food and beverages consumed from the mini-bar that we didn't take. Although the issue was quickly resolved and the bill was cancelled once we explained to them that we didn't take anything, it should not have happened in the first place. The second issue occurred with a taxi that we had ordered at the concierge desk that wasn't ordered. Since we had an early flight out of KL and had to be at the airport fairly early in the morning, we thought we'd pre-order the taxi with the hotel the night before. Unfortunately the employee who we spoke with simply forgot to order the taxi so when we exited the hotel and discovered that there wasn't a taxi coming, the concierge on duty had to scramble to get us another taxi. The hotel does provide their own limo service to the airport but since it was much more expensive than taking the taxi, we opted not to take it. Luckily we woke up earlier than we needed to give ourselves more time so we did make it to the airport on time.

The hotel is large, 571 rooms, so you will not get the "personal touch" you may get by staying at a smaller hotel; however, we had a comfortable stay and that is what we were looking for after a month of traveling. A beautiful pool area, spa and fitness center is also located on-site. Finally, check-in was smooth and quick despite their best efforts to try to sell us an upgraded room (for a very reasonable price I might add).

Food:

There are two restaurants and a lounge bar at the hotel. Since we did not dine at any of them we cannot comment on the food. We can say that the lounge and restaurants are very stylish and offer nice views of the city.

Overall Value:

Overall, we did enjoy our stay here and would recommend it to others.
